I am an international journalist and founder of the journalistic collective The Caravan’s Journal. You can read my contributions in De Standaard, Al Jazeera English, De Groene Amsterdammer or other media. My reporting traces human and political issues that define our times.

Much of my work is on migration. I investigate some of the root causes for humans to leave their homes. This often ends up in human stories that illustrate the larger society and consequences of political decision-making. I consider migration to be one of the most pressing issues of today. Root causes, ranging from war to climate change, will continue to dramatically change the world as we know it.

I have also written and produced a number of stories from across Europe, Ukraine, Russia, Burma and the Middle East. On these travels I have encountered and interviewed smugglers, rogue soldiers, merchants, gamblers, refugees and winners of the Nobel Prize. My stories intend to connect the dots while exploring new ways of storytelling.

Bylines include Al Jazeera English, De Standaard (BE), Die Welt (DE), De Groene Amsterdammer (NL), Vrij Nederland (NL), Knack (BE), MO* (BE), Cicero (DE), De Tijd (BE), De Morgen (BE), Balkan Insight, Canvas (BE), Apache (BE), The Krakow Post (PL), Euractiv and others.

I studied journalism in Belgium and foreign corresponding in The Netherlands and Denmark. I also co-founded The Caravan’s Journal. We are an international not-for-profit collective of storytellers and journalists, aimed at the exchange of knowledge, culture and experience. We also aim to produce high-quality pieces of non-fiction storytelling, by joining forces with journalists across the world.
